Deer frequently wait to tee off with you at Big Eau Pleine

Summer Smackdown is a Wisconsin Disc Golf Tour Stop held at Big Eau Pleine in Mosinee, Wisconsin and directed by Pete Hoover .

A beautiful venue for both camping and disc golf, Mosinee's Big Eau Pleine County Park provides a picturesque backdrop for the Summer Smackdown.  Perhaps Wisconsin disc golf's best kept secret, the BEP is groomed enough to be pretty but rough enough to punish poor throws.

Bring the entire family to enjoy swimming, biking (on pavement, hard packed trail and single-track), hiking and boating.  At last years tournament the camping filled up, so contact Wausau Marathon County Parks to reserve sites early.  The West Unit is near the course but more crowded, the South Unit is a short drive to the course but more rustic and private.

Deer are commonly seen on the course and often make you wait to complete your throw.  Several par fours challenge even the big arms and require accurately placed first and second drives.  Consider par from the blue tees as a very solid round.

After the second round you'll want to enter the Sky Ace contest, with shots at a basket suspended 30+ feet in a big maple tree.  Disc King custom paints the basket that you're trying to win with some unforgettably cool candy colors.
